I agree, in business as well as in ministry, we have to be flexible. We need to have the entrepreneurial spirit of doing what it takes, even if it's at the last minute changes and improvement. The problem is when last minute planning is done because of lack of foresight and long term planning. We cheat our employees and volunteers when we don't plan ahead accordingly and put unnecessary pressure on them because of the lack of long term leadership. Long term planning and preparation facilitates last minutes changes and improvements because the bulk of the work would have been done.

Ed, I agree!

Planning is great and necessary, but in ministry you always have to be flexible. Having things ready early is awesome but sometimes you need "just in time" delivery.

How many times have you planned a sermon and had the Lord redirect you after you finished all your preparation?
